A compact format check
Bicycle describes four players in two partnerships, using a standard 52-card pack. Cards rank ace high down to two. The dealer’s final card identifies the trump suit and belongs to the dealer.
Make the layout easy to discuss
Use a fixed label for each seat during a teaching session. Keep a note showing which two seats belong to each partnership. This makes it easier to describe a sample without confusing a team, a player and the person currently dealing.
Keep a complete reference open
Read the source’s deal and trump sections together before moving cards. A short orientation is useful for finding your place, but it does not tell you every procedural detail. Record deliberate changes separately if your group chooses a club format.
